I get a great sense of satisfaction when I click ‘send’ on a story I’ve been writing and I know it’s winding it’s way to my editor. For the first few days I just float on a sea of calm and relief. It’s been written and edited by me all the major work is done. Phew. It’s not until a week or so that I start to worry about if it’s going to be accepted or not.

Moon Shy has been completed in a month. I was on holiday for a week early on and so it didn’t really get moving until 2 weeks ago. I’ve completed about 17k of writing in the last 2 weeks! I do like a deadline, I find it really helps me write. Now whether I write my best work under a deadline I really can’t say!

My latest tale was completed for the Over The Moon anthology over at Total-E-Bound. It was a completely new kind of story for me to write. I’ve written a few stories with fantasy elements before like “Not what you see, what you feel” from Coming Together vol. 1 (Yes, I was in on it from the beginning-whoop!) and I have a longer fantasy story that I’ve been working on for ages which I might try to finish this summer now I’ve had a re-taste of writing paranormally, so to speak.

So, since it’s you, I’ll let you know what Moon Shy is all about.

Lowell is a werewolf. Desdemona is a werewolf, that is where the similarities end.

Desdemona takes great joy in the full moon. She maims and kills with enthusiasm and wishes she could be a werewolf every day. Lowell hates what he is. He wishes that the full moon would only come around once in a million years.

Jenny is a sweet girl who often acts before she thinks, especially when a man is involved. She finds herself between these two werewolves. She loves Lowell, he was her school crush way back when. Desdemona is her superior and makes her working life a misery.

But which werewolf will have Jenny in the end? Will Desdemona succeed in killing her during the full moon or will Lowell be able to keep her safe and in the dark about his horrific secret? It comes down to a fight between two werewolves one Moon lover and one Moon Shy. Who will win?

You’ll have to hope it gets accepted by my editor so you can find out! I will keep you all up to date with whats happening but if Moon Shy is accepted for the Over the Moon Anthology, it will be available in November 2009.
