smutbday

It was a dark and stormy night – it really was, the rains hammered down and the wind howled but intrepid smutters came and partied to celebrate 5 years of smutty shenanigans anyway.

It was the first time Me and Kev had visited Cirque but it won’t be the last. What an amazingly atmospheric venue.  We will definitely be arranging fun events there again in the future.  We set up shop on the first floor, plush leather seating, a lovely bar, dark wood and walls, beautiful.  Downstairs I sat in the cage to greet people and the wonderful innocent sex toys gals (our wonderful sponsors) put up their stand for people to admire on their way in.

When the intrepid smutters arrived I greeted them with a bag of sexy goodies and a smile. It might be work but I really do love my smut events and the amazing people who come along to them.

There was food, party hats, books and the Mucky Dip and I started off the night with an exclusive reading from my brand new anthology Tender. I was sure the story, Hold Still was 5 minutes long…but Our Chief Spanker thought differently, I didn’t quite get to finish it, I tried but the paddle strikes were too distracting!

We’re always thrilled when our good friends Jay and Bea join us at our smutty events because they always bring the best entertainment- themselves. At the Birthday party we enjoyed a mini Professor Scribblicious with  the fabulous Bea Noir mesmerising us with her Aztec Princess bed of nails act.

Here are a few of the writings inspired by this amazing performance:

Nancy stared at herself in the mirror, layering on more make up until it matched the picture in her head. Finally happy with the result she added the head dress that had so caught her eye at the flea market.

“Who are you? She asked, feeling hot, dry air in her head more than the cold tile under her bare feet in the dingy bathroon of her student flat.

Feeling beats through every fibre, swaying in primeval rhythms, mind just a spectator to the ancient rituals spilling from her limbs.

The air thickens and forms shiver on the edge of visible, no pain or fear as her blood paints symbols of need across the floor.

Green hair, perfect nipples and the cutest dimples, Lola was definitely the strangest social worker I’d ever met. Her lilting welsh accent made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

She has a sack full of names that she handed out like fun sized twix, a new one for each night and a different story for anyone who asked. She was a gypsy queen in Gateshead, An amazon bride in Bridlington or the last grandchild of thatcher’s lesbian whore in Tattersall.

Identities were like multicoloured party dresses and sex no more permanent than a box full of lego waiting for the greedy fingers of an idiot child.

If you want in on the Professor Scribblicious  fun the next event is the 12th November at Chapter One Books in Manchester. It’s a fun, inspiring evening -don’t miss it!

I finished the evening with another reading, this one from my novel Good Manors.  You can listen to the reading, and see the kendo strike that ended it in the facebook live post taken by the amazing Kev Blisse.

It was an amazing night full of fun, laughter and double entendre. A fitting way to celebrate 5 whole years of smut events. When The idea first came to us, I’m sure neither Kev or I really thought we’d make it happen, let alone that it would be still going 5 years later. I have enjoyed every event, every moment spent with friends, even every tombola ticket folded or mucky dip ball filled. This is a labour of love for myself  and Kev. Our desire to bring together people who write, who read, who love smut in an environment that makes them feel at home. I hope we’ve achieved that and will continue to for many years to come.

Thank you to Cheryl Smith and her team at Cirque for their friendly, professional help and care and to Innocent Sex toys for sponsoring our event and joining in and making it fun. Check them out, their site is filled with luxurious, good quality sex toys you know you can trust. Thanks to Jay and Bea, our lives are crazier and much more fun with you in it and smut is enhanced by your involvement.  Thank you to Matt for his help and support on the night and at all the events he’s attended with us. You’re truly a great addition to team smut. And the biggest thanks of all goes to Kev, without him none of this would ever happen at all.

And to all of you who have attended one or more of our events online and offline, thank you for enhancing my life. I take so much inspiration, comfort, love and joy from the smut events we organise. Thank you all for being part of that.
