On the 13th August I got up very early indeed, caught a lift with the gorgeous Matt and we headed off to the Manchester Author and Evening Gig in Astley. I was there as author and Matt was there as tasty eye candy, erm, I mean as a model!
It was such a fun day, I met so many people some whom I’ve only ever interacted with online like the very lovely Alice Raine and Holly Jody Gill who I got photos with and CA Bell and Elizabeth Morgan who I didn’t (doh!) and others I was new too. I did a lot of pleasant chatting about books. Wonderful. It was good to spend some time catching up with the lovely Matt too, always a pleasure, that.
The amazing Zak Jane Keir was there, it’s always a fun event with her around. I really enjoyed catching up as it’d been a long time since we’d last seen one another. And of course, the hostess with the mostest was buzzing around all day, Scarlett Flame. Wow, what a lot of effort she’d put into making the event happen, hats off to her! I managed to catch up with Bella Settara too, who was inspired to get into writing erotic romance herself at Smut by the Sea.
I enjoyed catching up with David Lascelles and was totally made up when he gave me the cutest little badge with the words ‘This one’s definitely for you’. Aww, thanks David!
I couldn’t believe how quickly time flew and unfortunately I couldn’t stay for the gig as I had another engagement. I had a cracking day, the highlight of which was looking over to the tea and coffee corner and seeing the lovely Bob reading Good Manors right then and there. Now that touched my lil’ authorly heart that did!
