MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

I was at the Church Carols by Candlelight on Sunday and I took some photos to share with you.  I’m sure you’re sick of my going on about how much I love St Agnes‘s but I’m going to mention it again today because Christmas to me is all about love, hope, joy and family and that’s what I get there.

And that’s the joy of Christmas. The love, the hope, the excitement is available to ALL.  Fuck (yes, I said a naughty word) all those pillocks who want to keep Christmas in the church, who go on about it being eroded away blah blah blah. No. Christ came to this earth for every single one of us and I believe he’s quite happy that we all have a big party to celebrate that.

So whether you’re going to church or not, whether your Christian or Muslim or Jewish or Hindu or another religion party on. If you’re rich or poor, old or young, sceptical or a ‘true’ believer. Party on. It’s Christmas!

The title of this blog is taken from the carol ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman’ and I find myself singing it a lot. Comfort and joy. That’s something we all need. Here’s the words the the last verse of the hymn:

Now to the Lord sing praises,
All you within this place,
And with true love and brotherhood
Each other now embrace;
This holy tide of Christmas
All other doth deface.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy

May Peace and love be with you through the holidays and remember -party on, whoever you are. The Joy of Christmas is for all.
