Sexy, Smutty Fun at the Erotic Event of the Year 2016 @SexhibitionUK #event #indieauthor #books

Comfy chairs, books, a kissing booth and loads of amazing sex toys that was the basic make up of the Smut.UK reading corner sponsored by Amazingo.co.uk at Sexhibition this last weekend. At certain points you’d also find gorgeous ladies dressed in Pretty Deviant Latex too, a Harry Potter inspired Freak show, a lady in lacy blindfold swinging around a pole and a crazy clown on a bed of nails (yep, Bea Noir, who else) So we were definitely the place to be and I’ve not even mentioned the dirty talk yet.

Last year we had a brill space for our Smut base, this year we went super size! With a dozen proper comfy purple chairs (to match the tablecloths!) we were the place to chill and take the weight off. Friday we set up and got everything in it’s place ready for our first evening of meeting and greeting smutty friends. Lots of hard work for Kev and I but it was fun to see our comfy corner coming together. It was relatively quiet, but we had lots of people stop by and ask what we would have going on over the weekend.

The highlight of that first evening trading was most definitely Bea Noir‘s Harry Potter Inspired Freak Show. Jay had to track down a light bulb for this Professor Scribblicious performance. When he tracked down someone to ask they didn’t bat an eyelash but asked what fitting/wattage was needed.

“Doesn’t matter,” he replied, “it just needs to taste good.”

And that was the weirdest request taken up to that point and it was Sexhibition. Now that’s an achievement!

I didn’t get any photos, because I’m a complete numpty, but after our fun first few hours at Sexhibition we headed into the awards and got to manically cheer on lots of awesome people and brands. Friend of Smut, Girl on the Net won Erotic Journalist of the year and Sh!Womenstore won best erotic retailer. The gorgeous Kiku Boutique won Best corset designer and the Erotic Author of the Year was the amazing and totally surprised Liv Honeywell. We were thrilled for her and I think me and Zak Jane Keir, fellow nominees cheered the loudest for her.

Sexhibition day one wrapped up with the longest, most frustrating wait for a taxi ever. Who thought football matches on a Friday night was a good idea? Finally one taxi driver took pity and we got back to our hotel sometime after midnight very much ready for lots of sleep. A positive shout out to Travelodge Trafford Park, we had a lovely room and was able to borrow a phone charger as we’d left ours back at Victoria Warehouse. Doh.

Saturday the smut started in ernest, including readings from some truly amazing authors. Lucy Felthouse, Tabitha Rayne (Yay Brit Babes!) Scarlett Flame, Zak Jane Keir, Anna Sky and a new to me author who is amazing Immani Love. Also myself and Liv Honeywell joined in the slams too. Wow, what an amazing spread of excerpts. I was really proud listening to each and every one. It takes some gumption to stand up in front of a crowd and yell out your erotica. Well done all of you.

As well as the readings I lead my first workshop of the Weekend on Dirty Talk, it was a select gathering but I think we all had fun and the first ever game of Bing Oh Behave went down especially well!

We also had another performance form the amazing Bea Noir, so impressive in fact you couldn’t move past us for people craning their necks to see what was going on. The things Bea can do on a pole make me shake my head in sheer wonderment. Wow. So impressive. We got a visit from the awesome Harley Monster too and I got a few photos of her in an amazing latex Harley Quinn Outfit.

Some folks sketched and others wrote for Professor Scribblicious and the winner got a Ruby Glow, how awesomesauce is that? Thanks Rocks Off for that and 3 other hot sexy toys given out as prizes over the whole weekend.

So that’s the second time I’ve mentioned the professor. It’s a great event that happens monthly at Chapter One books and combines amazing workshops, breathtaking performances and opportunities to practise your creative writing. Next one is on the 17th September and will be awesome, check it out.

No Smut event would be complete without a mention of THE Matt Stobbs, around from Friday Night, constantly laughing, joking and making me smile, this guy really helped make the weekend rock. I especially enjoyed it when he popped over in his amazing Jed Pheonix outfit that he’d strutted on the main Catwalk. Wow, what a swashbuckling, dashing young gentleman!

I don’t think I stopped at all through the day on Saturday, even when I was enjoying some Golds Ice cream with Kev we stopped to take photos. Oooh, that ice cream was delicious and all the flavours had themed names. And all bar the oreo were gluten free, yaaay! I really struggled to eat anything properly as there was little catering on site and no where close by for gluten free noms. I existed on crisps and biscuits that I’d taken til I got my ice cream. I was very touched when the gorgeous Gilly Langley handed me a pack of rice cakes…I know, it doesn’t sound like a gift to make you cry but she realised how hard it would be for me to get food so she brought something for me. How thoughtful is that? Smutty people are the best.

After a break for some real food – a naked burger at Frankie and Benny’s, Salford Quays – we were back for Sexhibition After Dark. I changed into something lacy, something quite brave all things considering but I felt happy and comfortable to do so. That is one of the amazingly positive things about sexhibition, you can feel free to express yourself however you want to, show flesh or cover it, flaunt your fetish or keep it smart and sexy. Everyone is accepted just exactly as they are.

After dark outfit and Kinky Monkey Stretchy collar/lead.

We did some seriously sexy readings after dark – Zak Jane Keir gets the prize for the most fucked up, that’s no surprise is it? Basically we had the place for people to crash, chill and just take breath while the dungeon hummed and the loud entertainment boomed out from the main stage. I enjoyed chatting with people and watching the amazing outfits on folks walking past or staying for a while.

It was a very late night, we didn’t get back to our hotel ’til going on 2am and was asleep very soon after my head hit the pillow. It was not many hours later when we woke up and started all over again after a rather tasty breakfast (if a weird combo for me on the GF option) at the Castle in the Air Wetherspoons.

We met the Innocent Sex Toys gals as we waited to get into Victoria Warehouse and had a good chat. Lovely ladies and they gave us an amazing donation for a future tombola, thank you! We saw lots of friends old and new from lovely companies, the Kink Craft guys were providing folks with the opportunity to make their own flogger…I’ve heard the make your own item is of a whippy nature for Smut Manchester…oooh. The nippleicious folks were there and won the biggest bear ever courtesy of Sister Jacqui and the Sisters of Perpetual indulgence who I got to cuddle. The bear that is, and Sister Jacqui. We snogged in the kissing booth too…oo er! I saw The Bondage Man, Sheets of San Francisco (I got a nice sit on their bed, could have happily had a nap!) Zhyon the most amazing rude crockery ever from Outlandish Creations.

Sunday was much more laid back with more readings and more workshops and yet another amazing performance from Bea Noir – this time as a crazy clown with a strange attraction to a bed of nails. I know that sounds pretty busy, but the over all feeling was more easy going. Everyone was winding down and it seemed Sunday was the favourite day for having a go on our Erotic tombola. We made close to £100 to give to FPA too…so we’ve rounded it up and donated £100 to their essential, sex positive work. So thank you so much to Uber Kinky, Amazing O, Love Honey, Toys 4 Naughty Boys, Kink Craft, Nice and Naughty, Sex Toys.co.uk, Love Me Spank Me, The Sirens and Intimacy London for their generous donations to our tombola. sexhib16tombola

We did create a whole new game as some lovely models came just as we were packing up and wanted to have a go at winning on our tombola. As we’d got rid of all the tickets we let them stick their hands in our box instead. Charged them 3 quid for the privilege and they got to keep what they found there…oo er. It was great fun so look out for the Smut.UK Glory Box at future events!

What an amazing weekend. Special thanks have to go to the guys who were a constant help over the weekend. The fabulous Zak Jane Keir, Liv Honeywell, The Matt Stobbs, Professor ‘Jay’ Scribblicious, Bea Noir and to Lotte and Di who stepped in and helped out with transporting smut to the venue.  And the biggest thank you goes to my King of Smut because without Kev the reading corner wouldn’t have existed. Thank you, husband for all your love, support and your amazing skills. We make a fabulous team.
