Real-life ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ hits the number one spot, as Made in Chelsea stars help to launch the book at Coco de Mer

Thursday 6th September: Last night at Coco de Mer’s emporium in Covent Garden, Made in Chelsea star Cheska Hull helped launch the new number one bestseller, The Diary of a Submissive by Sophie Morgan, with two perfectly pitched readings from the book. Joining her to celebrate the launch of the book, which was hosted jointly by Coco de Mer and Penguin, were Made in Chelsea co-stars Gabriella Ellis and Ollie Locke.

Described as the ‘real life fifty shades of grey’ and a real no-holds-barred story of what it actually means to be a submissive, the book has already been attracting a lot of attention and hit the top spot of the non-fiction book bestsellers’ chart this week.

The launch party was a suitably glamorous, cheeky and intimate affair with guests also being treated to a spanking salon by Coco de Mer’s Allison England inspired by the book. During the salon, Allison explained how to spank carefully and consensually using a range of paddles, belts and rulers before encouraging guests to try spanking out for themselves – with Cheska practising on Ollie Locke!

Victoria Blisse was in attendance and said “Tiny cakes, spanking and a goodie bag, what more could you want from a night out? I’ve never visited Coco De Mer before so this was quite the experience and it was great to hear some extracts from The Diary of a Submissive read aloud, Cheska Hull did a great job”.

The Diary of a Submissive by Sophie Morgan is out now, published by Michael Joseph [an imprint of Penguin Books] at £7.99 in paperback. Also available as an ebook on Kindle
