Well, it’s a New Year and already I’ve done something new that terrified me…2015 is shaping up well!

Matt S, Model invited me along to a coffee meet for Models, Make Up Artists, Photographers and Creatives. I sneak in under the creatives banner but I must confess I was a little daunted, wondering if I’d fit in at all but I have vowed to do more of that networking thing this year and as the meet was in my local city I decided to give it a go.

I was petrified as I wound my way through the streets of Manchester to the Cheeky Coffee Co . Doing something for the first time is always a little nerve wracking but this was somewhat out of my comfort zone and I had no idea whatsoever what to expect.

I found the place (first hurdle) and saw Matt (so I knew I was in the right place) and made an entrance.  You know what? They were a friendly bunch of folks. I had worried I’d be sat twiddling my thumbs as conversation passed me by but nope, people talked to me. I think I said at least a word or two to every person who attended and most, if not all, ended up with an I Love Smut badge. Networking FTW!

In fact, I was soon sucked into the conversation and joining in with the puns and smutty comments. I don’t think I should relate what I heard here (No fish were harmed though, honestly!) but I am going to have to add a disclaimed to future stories about any resemblance to real life characters and situations being merely coincidental. I heard some stories I can tell you!

When it came to kicking out time at the coffee shop a group of us headed off to a pub (I’m afraid I didn’t pay attention to which one) for more chat.

Aren’t we a good looking bunch, huh? All I can say is that if you’re in Manchester on the 6th Feb, you should come along to the next Coffee Meet, sign up (and find more details) at the facebook event.
